As every year, CAEN SpA organized the CAEN Winter School, held from February 2nd to 5th at its headquarters in Viareggio, Italy. The event was organized in collaboration with the IMSci-Nu Master’s program at Aix-Marseille University and the “Excellence Nucléaire Sud” project.

The Winter School offered a unique blend of theoretical lectures and hands-on workshops, focusing on radiation detectors and nuclear measurement techniques. Participants had the opportunity to deepen their understanding and refine their practical skills in key areas, including nuclear waste characterization, Decommissioning and Dismantling (D&D), CAEN digitizers, and Neutron-Gamma Discrimination.

By combining cutting-edge theoretical knowledge with real-world applications, the event provided an immersive learning experience, allowing attendees to work with advanced nuclear instrumentation. The enthusiastic participation and collaborative spirit of all involved contributed to making the Winter School a resounding success.

CAEN is now part of The European Industrial Alliance on Small Modular Reactors (SMRs)

We are thrilled to announce that CAEN SpA has joined The European Industrial Alliance on Small Modular Reactors (SMRs), which aims to speed up the development and deployment of SMRs in Europe by the early 2030s. SMRs are advanced nuclear reactors that provide low-carbon electricity and heat with enhanced safety and a smaller footprint. The alliance unites industry leaders, financial institutions, researchers, and policymakers to build a strong nuclear supply chain, support SMR projects, and overcome investment barriers. This initiative is a significant step towards integrating nuclear technologies into industrial applications and aiding Europe’s decarbonization efforts.

This marks a significant milestone for our company as we join an elite network of organizations dedicated to shaping the future of the European energy landscape. As part of the Alliance, we have the opportunity to contribute to strategic Technical Working Groups (TWGs) addressing key topics such as:

  • Ensuring a smooth collaboration with Industrial Applications.
  • Building a comprehensive and credible R&D&I roadmap to secure an on-time deployment of SMR in Europe.
  • Support the development of a comprehensive strategy for the Supply Chain.
  • Plays a key role in Nuclear Safety and Safeguards through a standardized and versatile transition.
  • Considering the on-going programs of the nuclear safety regulators Fuel Cycle and Waste Management.

New CAEN distributor for the South Korean market

Seoul, April 29th 2017. CAEN SpA, worldwide leader in providing Power Supply systems and Front-End/Data Acquisition modules which for Nuclear and Particle Physics and their application, and PSK Technology, Korean business leader in Radiation, Radiation applied Medical and Industrial field, have signed a distribution agreement for the South Korean market. The two companies will collaborate in further improving the presence and the offer of the CAEN solutions in the Korean market thanks to the PSK powerful know-how and experience on Photonic Devices such as Photomultiplier Tubes, PMT Modules, MPPCs(Si PMs) and other Opto-semiconductors.

CAEN Extends Product Warranty to 36 Months

CAEN SpA has announced a significant extension to its warranty policy. Effective immediately, CAEN SpA products will now come with a 36-month (three-year) warranty period. This move exceeds the standard 24-month period mandated by European Union regulations, providing customers with an additional year of coverage.

The 36-month warranty applies to CAEN-branded hardware and covers defects in materials and workmanship under normal use. This extension reflects the company’s commitment to product quality and customer satisfaction, ensuring comprehensive support for corrective maintenance and product replacement at the CAEN service center in Viareggio, Italy.

The warranty period for consumable parts such as batteries, bulbs, filters, and specific products etc. are not covered under this extended warranty, as they are subject to natural wear and tear. For more details, please refer to the terms of sale here.

CAEN continues to offer warranty extensions beyond the initial 36 months through optional services, allowing for even more comprehensive coverage. This enhancement aligns with the company’s focus on delivering reliable products and outstanding after-sales support to its global customer base.

CAEN SpA and CAENspa India sign Memorandum of Understanding with Shiv Nadar Institute of Eminence

We are proud to announce the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between CAEN SpA, CAENspa India Private Limited, and the Shiv Nadar Institute of Eminence (SNIoE).

CAEN SpA, a renowned manufacturer of electronic instrumentation for physics experiments, and its wholly-owned subsidiary, CAENspa India, have entered into this agreement with SNIoE, a prestigious international, multi-disciplinary research-led university in India. This MoU marks an important milestone for a collaboration focused on education, training, research, and development.
